A Secret Backstage Tour

Do you dare peek behind the curtain?

This page is your portal to the secret world of Disney's Haunted Mansion... an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at what lies inside the walls of the greatest dark ride experience ever manufactured. This section is dedicated to celebrating the amazing creative prowess displayed in the Haunted Mansion's inner workings, and is not intended to spoil the ride's mystery or ruin anyone's fun.

The Haunted Mansion remains one of my all-time favorite Magic Kingdom attractions... and I'm not alone. Millions of guests around the world have been thrilled and delighted by Walt's chilling concept of a retirement home for 999 happy haunts.

- Tom Fitzgerald, Senior Creative Executive, WDI

Having thus warned you of the spoilers ahead, we welcome you to enjoy this exclusive exploration of the mysteries of Disney's Haunted Mansion, which is among the most amazing themed attractions ever created.

Pictured to the left are the famous silk-screened attraction posters used at the Disney theme parks to advertise the Haunted Mansion. The posters are typically displayed near the entrances to both parks, where they can wet the whistles of incoming guests as they began planning their days at the Magic Kingdom.

Here's a bit of trivia: Although there are 999 "happy haunts" rumored to roam the halls and property of the Haunted Mansion, there are actually more than 100 physical audio-animatronic figures installed throughout the Haunted Mansion attractions. (This doesn't include projections which are looped endlessly, or different voice tracks that could be interpreted as characters, however—so purists can rest assured that the population number of 999 is not necessarily out of the realm of feasibility!) Read on to meet some of these characters, explore the intricately detailed sets, and get a closer look at the inner workings of this fantastic attraction.
