The Story and Song from the Haunted Mansion - Album art
Pictured below is the exquisite album art from Disneyland Records 3947 - "The Story and Song from the Haunted Mansion." The artwork is by WED Imagineer Collin Campbell, who also created conceptual artwork for the Haunted Mansion attraction.
This classic LP from 1969 contains 11 pages of magnificent full-color scenes from the Haunted Mansion. A farmboy from Michigan that graduated from Glendale's School of Allied Arts, Imagineer Collin Campbell worked for WED after a stint with Disney Animation, where he worked on Lady and the Tramp (1955) and 101 Dalmations (1961).
Imagineering a theme
As an employee of WED, Campbell worked on conceptual design of many of Disneyland's most revered attractions. He, together with Imagineer Claude Coats, created much of the look and feel of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. Campbell clearly knew the Mansion intimately, as the following art will demonstrate.
